Torchwood Season 4 Episode 6 'The Middle Men'. Air Date: August 12, 2011 at 10:00 PM on Starz. Captain Jack Harkness, the former Time Agent and con man from the 51st century last seen traveling with the Doctor, ventures to early 21st century Cardiff. There, he becomes a member of Torchwood Institute, a renegade criminal investigation group founded by Queen Victoria to battle hostile extraterrestrial and supernatural threats.

Previous Episode: The government makes plans for Floor 13, Torchwood must go underground. As the 456 announce that they are here, the world focuses on Britain, the Ambassador shows its intent, the Torchwood team discovers the truth of 1965. The world descends into chaos as the final sanction begins, Gwen must stand alone and fight on her hands when the Government puts into action its plans to remove the underachieving ten percent of British children. There is only one way for Jack to save the children of Earth - making the ultimate sacrifice.

The failed execution of a convicted murderer and pedophile marks the beginning of "Miracle Day." Across the globe, people become immortal, mysteriously incapable of dying no matter what the circumstances. At the same time, a mysterious email draws the CIA's attention to the Torchwood Institute. Agent Rex Matheson travels to Wales to find the last known surviving member of Torchwood. Meanwhile, the world's population begins to realize the consequences on a planet of ultimately limited resources where no one dies and 500,000 children are born each day.

After the team are reunited, Jack ends up realising that he is now the most vulnerable person on the planet. A trip to America by plane ends up turning into a desperate battle to stay alive. The Torchwood team find themselves on the run and end up discovering a new enemy. As they attempt to launch a raid on PhiCorp headquarters, Jack has to confront Oswald Danes.

The team travel to California, where a trap is waiting as they continue their fight against PhiCorp. Oswald and Jilly have to face an enemy of their own, Torchwood goes undercover and discovers the terrible truth behind the Miracle. The enemy is closing in, and death is about to make a shocking return.

For Now Story: With Gwen, Rex and Esther trapped on both sides of the Atlantic, it's a race against time as Jack goes straight to the heart of the conspiracy.
