LA Ink Season 4 Episode 16 - Tats for Japan. Air date:August 11, 2011 10:00 PM on TLC. Body artist Kat Von D has left Miami Ink and is setting up shop in her hometown of L.A., and TLC has its cameras on her to capture her success or failure. Even though she's one among many tattoo parlors in the City of Angels, Kat's reputation precedes her. But can she learn how to balance her professional and personal life in a place where it's easy to get distracted by the glitz and the glamour?

Previous Story: Kat auctions a tattoo for a charity, while Dan is interviewed on Nikki's show before the band plays at the House of Blues. While at American Electric, Amy is caught tattooing Aubry when Corey walks in. Kat starts to investigate why her crew are acting odd, but discovers she has ruined their surprise. At American Electric, Paulie is missing and Amy is covering for him and Ruthless threatens to tell Craig. Now that Corey is gone, Kat decides to remove his image from the mural. Paulie returns to American Electric without explaining where he has been and Craig is forced to fire him.

Michael and Rooftop are in charge of the next door event space, while Kat decides on whether to go on tour with Nikki or end their relationship. Tensions hit a head between Ruthless and Amy over an upcoming tattoo convention. Kat's gallery "Wonderland" opens with a party of surprises, including introducing her new boyfriend to the press. Meanwhile at AE, tensions between Amy and Ruthless explode. The High Voltage tries to adjust to all the changes occuring in Kat's life which will affect the shop's future.

Kat is trying to maintain a relationship with fiancé, Jesse James, who is in Austin, TX and design her wedding dress with her new clothing line's designers. She also decides to take in a wayward teen and leaves her alone when she heads for New York for a Sephora photo shoot.

Now Episode Is: Kat and the crew decide to throw a benefit for the earthquake victims in Japan, but find out High Voltage may not be so safe when the big one hits. Tensions rise between Rooftop and Arianna, and when Arianna takes Kat's car without permission.
